We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Development Intern to support our sales, marketing, and client acquisition efforts within the IT and fintech space. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, engage potential clients, and promote Sky World’s digital and enterprise solutions.
Job Description
The Business Development Intern will be responsible for supporting market research, lead generation, and sales initiatives for Sky World’s IT and digital solutions. The role involves assisting in business opportunity identification, client engagement, proposal preparation, product presentations, and sales reporting, while gaining hands-on exposure to IT solutions, digital banking systems, ERP platforms, and enterprise technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across SACCOs, MFIs, Banks, and corporate institutions
  • Support client meetings, product demonstrations, and presentations for digital banking, ERP, and IT solutions
  • Assist in developing and executing sales and marketing campaigns across digital and traditional channels
  • Participate in the full sales lifecycle, including lead generation, prospect qualification, proposal preparation, and follow-ups
  • Collaborate with technical, product, and support teams to understand solution capabilities and client requirements
  • Prepare sales documentation, pitch decks, proposals, and marketing collateral
  • Maintain accurate sales records, leads, and client interactions using CRM tools
  • Support market research, competitor analysis, and customer feedback collection
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking forums
Skills and Experience Required
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Sales & Marketing, or a related field
  • Graduated within the last four (4) years or in the final year of study
  • Strong interest in IT solutions, fintech, digital banking, ERP systems, and enterprise technologies
  • Basic understanding of software solutions, IT systems, or technology-enabled services will be an added advantage
  • Fluent in English and Kiswahili
  • Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment
